A.J: (1) In both stories Shan Shan and Nemaka struggled with their love life, their parents did not accept the fact that they wanted to find true love. (2)In “Love must not be forgotten “ Nemaka father tried to set up his love life by picking a special girl out of the tribe for him. (3) Many people judged Nekmaka for he disrespected his father choice and went with his own. ON the other hand in Shan Shan her mother told her she should take her time, no matter how long it takes be patience. (4) Shan Shan did not know who to fall in love with because her culture only married for money so it was hard to find true love. Cassidy: In both stories Shan Shan and Nemaka struggled with their love life, their parents did not accept the fact that they wanted to find true love. They tried to set up their love life by picking people their parents wanted them to love, or choosing someone whom they thought was good for them. So many people judged them and tried to tell them what was best for their love life so they had trouble trusting or falling into a deep love. Shan Shan did not know who to fall in love with because her culture only married for money so it was hard to fall into a real love. Nnemaka was only to marry someone from his culture and if he did that he would have been in a relationship but he would not be deeply in love.

"Marriage is a private affair" "Love must not be forgotten" Love, Marriage and Culture
The stories “Marriage is a Private Affair” and “Love Must Not Be Forgotten” are two stories that deal with love and marriage. In the story “Marriage is a Private Affair”, Nnaemeka and Nene are in love but they are from different tribes. Nnaemeka wants to marry Nene, but his father Okeke wants him to marry Ugoye Nweke. Since Nnaemeka did not want to marry Nweke, his father disowned him. In the story “Love Must Not Be Forgotten”, Shanshan is a thirty year-old single woman who is loved by a very attractive man but, she wonders if love will last or if she should even get married. Shanshan is searching for true love. It is also about Shanshan’s mother who was denied a relationship from a married man who loved her back but was unable to express his true feelings since he died in the revolution. The mother’s lost love. The main characters in both stories are dealing with love and marriage and their cultural. They disobey their cultures and go find love on their own. The outcome of the stories is that they find love and happiness.

Woman and Similie The Poems "woman" By Nikki Giovanni , and "similie" By N.Scott Momoday Both Have Similar Interactions involving Integrity. One of the lines in similie says "with ears forward, with eyes watchful" meaning be cautious of the surrounding which may lead to your downfall. In Woman the person involved in the poem wants her soul mate to meet her half way if not she'll be better off on her own , "...
she decided it was all
right ". Both of the poems show the readers how to be strong and keep your head high .
