\nThe stories \u201cMarriage is a Private Affair\u201d and \u201cLove Must Not Be Forgotten\u201d are two stories that deal with love and marriage. In the story \u201cMarriage is a Private Affair\u201d, Nnaemeka and Nene are in love but they are from different tribes. Nnaemeka wants to marry Nene, but his father Okeke wants him to marry Ugoye Nweke. Since Nnaemeka did not want to marry Nweke, his father disowned him. In the story \u201cLove Must Not Be Forgotten\u201d, Shanshan is a thirty year-old single woman who is loved by a very attractive man but, she wonders if love will last or if she should even get married. Shanshan is searching for true love. It is also about Shanshan\u2019s mother who was denied a relationship from a married man who loved her back but was unable to express his true feelings since he died in the revolution. The mother\u2019s lost love. The main characters in both stories are dealing with love and marriage and their cultural. They disobey their cultures and go find love on their own. The woman always try to look for her love of her life , but the problem is that he was never there. ON the turning point in line 18-19 " She decided to become a woman even thought he refused to be a man" . The woman build up enough courage to leave. On the other hand in line 8-9"firm ground in whose limbs there is latent flight.
